Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 September 2026 · SafeScreen Pty Ltd, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Plain summary: use SafeScreen to protect your own family or organisation, keep your account details safe, and understand that no filter catches everything. The full terms follow.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing or using SafeScreen, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. You must be at least 18 years old and have authority over the devices on which you install it.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use SafeScreen on devices you own or manage, for protecting the children in your family or organisation. What you can do depends on your plan: the Free plan covers one child on one device, the Family plan covers up to five children on an unlimited number of devices, and Organisation plans are set out in a separate agreement. We may reasonably limit usage that goes beyond these limits.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to install SafeScreen only on devices you are entitled to manage, and to use it for its intended purpose: filtering content for children in your care. You must not:

  • Use SafeScreen to monitor adults without their knowledge and consent, or otherwise without a lawful basis.
  • Copy, modify, reverse-engineer or decompile the software, or attempt to bypass, disable or interfere with the service or its security features, except where the law expressly allows it.
  • Resell, sublicense or redistribute the software without our written permission.
  • Use the service in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone else's rights.

4. Accounts & install keys

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and device install keys confidential, and for all activity under your account. Each device is tied to a child with a unique install key; logging the same install in twice will drop the earlier session. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think your account has been compromised.

5. The service & changes

SafeScreen updates automatically to stay current. We may add, change or remove features over time, and we may suspend the service briefly for maintenance. If we make a change that materially reduces what your paid plan includes, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email, and you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of any prepaid fees for the remaining period.

6. Plans, fees and cancellation

The Free plan costs nothing. Paid plans are billed in Australian dollars, in advance, monthly or yearly as shown on our pricing page, and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Prices include GST where it applies. You can cancel at any time from your account; your paid features continue until the end of the current billing period, after which your account moves to the Free plan. If SafeScreen isn't right for you, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice, effective from your next renewal. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

7. No guarantee of complete filtering

SafeScreen substantially reduces access to unwanted content, but no filter can catch everything, and it is not a substitute for adult supervision. Except for the consumer guarantees that apply under the Australian Consumer Law and cannot be excluded, the service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis and we make no other warranties about it.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited, at our option, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from content that the service did not block, and our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

9. Ending your account

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms; where reasonable we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. When your account closes, the agent stops enforcing your rules and we delete your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Privacy

Our handling of information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

12. Contact
