Setting up a PC
Create a family
Sign up, then add your first child to your family in your account.
Run the installer
Download it on the child's PC and run it as Administrator. It installs the service and the certificate.
Enter the install key
Paste in your child's install key. Each child has their own, and it links the PC to that child's rules.
Choose the rules
Set up safe search, blocked sites and blocked words in your account. Changes reach the PC within seconds.

What the installer does
You run it once, as Administrator. It registers the SafeScreen Windows service and installs a root certificate, which lets SafeScreen check HTTPS pages.
- Sets the SafeScreen service to start when Windows boots.
- Installs a root certificate, valid for 10 years, that is unique to this PC.
- Uses the install key to link the PC to your child.
The certificate is created on the child's PC, and its private key stays there.
